Holidays are still looking a bit different in 2021, but we hope that won't stop you from making your Valentines and Family Day weekend as special as ever! Fortunately for us, the southern Georgian Bay community transforms into Winter Wonderland of outdoor activities and excursions in the colder months, and most importantly, all socially-distanced approved. As always, make sure you read up on the current COVID-19 policies in your area before visiting to ensure you are following the proper guidelines.
With ski hills still closed, why not use this as an opportunity to try another winter sport you've had on your to-do list? South Georgian Bay encompasses a vast system of wilderness trails for snowshoeing, hiking, and cross-country skiing that wind their way through beautiful and diverse landscapes along the Niagara Escarpment, Georgian Bay, historic Collingwood and the beautiful Blue Mountains. If you're looking for something a bit more relaxing, we love the stroll along the Collingwood waterfront, and the short Loree Forest Loop trail.
If you and your Valentine are used to celebrating with a drool-worthy, gourmet meal, make sure you look into the local take-out options in your community. Although that romantic night out at your favourite restaurant may not be in the cards this year, many restaurants are offering special, prix-fixe Valentine's Day menus for-takeout. There's nothing better than enjoying a chef-worthy meal in the cozy comforts of your own home. Looking for ideas? We love the Lakeside Grill in Collingwood, and The Dam Gastropub in Thornbury
Whether you decide to celebrate by getting out on the snowy trails, or just snuggling up for a Harry Potter movie marathon, we wish you a weekend of happy and safe moments with your loved ones!
